The Congress legislature Party would visit Kandhamal on July 15 to hold discussions with Government officers over the killing of tribals during the crossfire between Maoists and security forces at Kurtamgarh, leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra said on Tuesday.
Mishra said, “Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will probe into the matter. I can’t understand if a case has been lodged over the incident or notIJ If not, what sort of investigation will be carried outIJ It has been alleged that the Chief Minister is responsible for the incident. Can the Additional DG carry out an impartial probe against himIJ” he asked.
“The Opposition is demanding formation of an SIT under the monitoring of the High Court for an impartial investigation into the incident,” Mishra pointed out.
