The delegation of 17 Congress MlAs, which met President Pranab Mukherjee seeking his intervention to resolve the Mahanadi water dispute on Thursday, would meet AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday and inform him about the river row.
The delegation led by leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Narasingha Mishra met party general secretary and Odisha-in-charge BK Hariprasad at the latter’s residence on Friday. The MlAs and Hariprasad discussed about how Odisha is going to suffer when construction of barrages upstream the Mahanadi would be completed.
Besides, they too planned out a next course of action to be taken by the Congress legislature Party to protect Odisha’s interest in the river water, sources said.
The MlAs would also discuss the issue with Rahul Gandhi during the meetingon Saturday and seek his support to resolve the water dispute between Chhattisgarh and Odisha, the sources added.
