Participating in a discussion titled “Dalits’ uplift and Gandhi’s dream” on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti here on Tuesday, PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik said that it has been the Congress party alone which has done something for the developments of poor and downtrodden, including the Dalits.
Patnaik and his team along with AICC general secretary and party Odisha in-charge Jitendra Singh participated in the discussion arranged by City Congress chief Md Moqim at the Saheed Bhawan here. After paying rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, the Congress leaders also had lunch in a Dalit’s house in a slum area under Ward No. 21 of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.
