PCC president Prasad Harichandan, former PCC chiefs Niranjan Patnaik, Kanhu Charan lenka, Ranjib Biswal and many other senior leaders assembled here to protest against the Central Government.

Amid cries of “murder of democracy” the Narendra Modi Government imposed President’s rule in Uttarakhand, barely a day before Harish Rawat-led Congress Government was scheduled to undergo a floor test. Describing the move as grossly unconstitutional and akin to murdering democracy, Congress State leadership said it will take to judicial recourse and challenge the decision in the Supreme Court. It charged the BJP central leadership of playing a “dirty game”.

“Despite stiff opposition and adverse opinion, the Modi Government implemented the sinister conspiracy by bulldozing democracy and imposing President’s rule. More so, Uttarakhand Assembly has been kept in suspended animation with a view to propagate and perpetuate horse-trading of MlAs with active abetment and conspiracy of the BJP leadership,” said Harichandan.

The Odisha Congress unit blamed the BJP’s top leadership for the political crisis in Uttarakhand with Chief Minister Harish Rawat accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah of misusing power.

The Congress dubbed it as the true face of Modi. later, the effigy of Prime Minister Modi and BJP president Saha were burnt.
