The Congress on Thursday demanded resignation of Higher Education Minister Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi over the publication of faulty Plus II results.
“The State Government has each year failed to conduct Matric and Plus II examinations smoothly and to publish faultless results thereto. The faulty evaluation of this year’s Plus II examinations has forced many students’ future into the dark,” a party Press release said.
He demanded that stringent action be taken against concerned officials responsible for the publication of ‘faulty’ results. “Why Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government shall not be answerable for the irregularities and the Higher Education Minister shall not tender his resignation,” the Congress demanded to know. Reacting over the demand by the Congress and the BJP for his resignation in the wake of the Plus Two results issue, Higher Education Minister Dr Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi remarked, “I have not become a Minister to resign. I have been a Minister to work for the people.”
