Congress leader and former Union Minister Chandra Sekhar Sahu on Thursday demanded establishment of national-level educational institution in the city. Sahu said people of this region have been demanding a national-level institution in Brahmapur, but neither the State nor the Central Government pays heed to the demand.
He said the State Government established IIIT and NISER in the capital city avoiding Brahmapur people’s demands. Even they had requested for setting up of IIT and IIM in the city, but nothing happened, he added.
“If the State Government wants, it can establish national-level institutions in our city in public-private partnership (PPP) mode,” Sahu said.
