The Odisha Kissan Khet Mazdoor Congress on Tuesday demanded immediate withdrawal of the recently-promulgated Ordinance to amend the land Acquisition Act citing that tribals, dalits and farmers will be the great losers. Kissan Khet Mazdoor Congress president Amiya Kumar Patnaik said the Ordinance will only ensure industrialists to take away the lands of poor farmers.
“Through this Ordinance the Modi Government has only ensured private companies and foreign companies to take away precious lands of poor farmers of the country. It is the real example of ‘ache din’ of Narendra Modi Government,” said Patnaik. He also demanded increase of minimum support price of paddy to Rs2,500.
