The Central Election Committee (CEC) of Congress may announce names of candidates for eight lok Sabha seats in the State soon.
This was revealed by Union Minister Srikant Jena after a meeting of the CEC was held in New Delhi on Friday. The meeting was attended by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi and 20 other members. Jena informed about the most probable names for the eight MP seats. They are six sitting MPs, Srikant Jena (Baleswar), Bhakta Das (Kalahandi), Pradeep Majhi (Nabarangpur), Sanjay Bhoi (Bargarh), Amar Pradhan (Sambalpur) and Hemananda Biswal (Sundargarh), along with names of two other candidates, Chandrasekhar Sahu (Brahmapur) and Giridhar Gamang (Koraput).
“The list of applicants is very long and our committee will select the good and winnable candidates,” said Jena.
