A brainstorming session was held at the Congress Bhawan here to ascertain the reasons for the disastrous defeat of the party in the recent urban local bodies (UlBs) elections in western Odisha.
The meeting was attended by district presidents, vice-presidents, secretaries and PCC members, besides All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and Odisha in-charge BK Hariprasad and his deputy Subhankar Sarkar.
An action plan was also prepared at the meeting keeping in view the general election in 2014.
Addressing party leaders, Hariprasad told them to work in a disciplined manner and warned that indiscipline in the party would not be tolerated at any cost.
“No indiscipline in party line would be tolerated; no body is above the party. All the office-bearers and the chiefs of all frontal organisations of the PCC must work in a disciplined manner,” said Hariprasad.
He further advised the district and block office-bearers to work dedicatedly at the grassroots level to bring the party back to power in 2014, adding that no sincere efforts would go in vein.
Presiding over the meeting, PCC president Jayadev Jena asked the district office-bearers to reach out to the people and highlight the various welfare schemes of the Union Government.
Among others PCC media cell chairman Narasingha Mishra and many other senior leaders participated in the discussions.
