The re-inauguration of the statue of former Chief Minister Binayak Acharya, situated at Binayak Acharya College, has sparked controversy in Brahmapur.
The statue, initially unveiled in 2014 to honour the late Chief Minister by Sankhemundi MLA Ramesh Chandra Jena, has now become a point of contention as it was re-inaugurated by the BJD leaders.
The attempt by BJD leaders to potentially claim credit for the re-inauguration has raised questions about the fairness and integrity of the act. The issue has stirred widespread debate and disapproval among the locals, senior lawyer Manoj Kumar Pattnaik said.
