Normal life was disrupted in Boudh district due to a dawn-to-dusk bandh observed by the Congress on Wednesday demanding fulfilment of various demands, including action against local block Chairman for getting NFSA cards in his name.
The Congress activists blocked roads at many places bringing vehicular movement to a grinding halt. All educational institutes, private organisations and business establishments remained closed during the bandh.
However, emergency services remained operational as the protesters spared these services from the shutdown.
The other demands included filling up of all vacant doctor posts at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), supply of clean drinking water and Government recognition to the Boudh College, the oldest college of the district.
