Normal life was paralysed in Deogarh on Monday due to a dawn-to-dusk bandh, which was called by the district Congress demanding declaration of the entire district as drought-hit.
Commercial establishments downed shutters and vehicles were off the roads.
Activists of the Congress staged protests in front of Government offices.
The Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) also joined the Congress in observing the bandh.
The district administration deployed an adequate number of police forces to maintain law and order.
