The Congress on Monday alleged that there has been massive corruption in the implementation of MGNREGA and RURBAN schemes with the knowledge of the Panchayati Raj Minister and Secretary. Addressing a Press conference at the Congress Bhawan here, party leaders Dr Debashis Patnaik, Satya Prakash Nayak and Manoranjan Das claimed that during the time of UPA Government at the Centre, the MGNREGA scheme was initiated to provide 100 days’ work guarantee to the poor and labour class, but now it has been found that the scheme has been the source of large-scale corruption at the grassroots level.
Presenting a specific case of Banki block, the Congress leaders claimed that the beneficiaries are being identified violating all rules and misappropriation of funds is going on.
