Cong accuses BJP of doing vendetta politics

A large number Congress activists led by Pradesh Committee (PCC) president Prasad Harichandan took to the streets here on Wednesday protesting over the National Herald case and accusing the BJP of doing vendetta politics.

The protestors, including Mahila Congress activists, took out a procession from Master Canteen Square and tried to rush towards the Assembly. A scuffle took place between them and the police while they tried to march towards the Assembly breaking the police cordon.

The protest was held in the wake of a Delhi High Court order to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi and others to appear before it on December 19 in connection with the National Herald newspaper case.

“The BJP is using Government agencies to target the Congress and its leaders and levelling allegations against them by doing vendetta politics. We'll continue with our protests,” said Harichandn.

Mahila Congress chief Sasmita Behera and PCC general secretary Sulochana Das among many senior leaders participated in the rally and decried the NDA Government’s acts.
