The Congress on Saturday started its ninth phase of Jan Jagaran Yatra (Public awareness programme) from Daringbadi in Kandhamal district.
led by Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan and Mahila Congress president Sasmita Behera, hundreds of party workers and senior leaders visited various villages and towns to garner public support for the party ahead of the upcoming panchayat polls.
The rally culminated at Greenbadi in the same district in the afternoon.
The grand old party’s Jana Jagaran Yatra aimed to make people aware about the high level of corruption, misdeeds and failures of the BJD Government which include the chit fund scam, farmers’ suicide and ration card scam.
The party also highlighted the anti-Odisha polices and cut in Central assistance to Odisha in many fronts during the campaign.
Harichandan slammed the Naveen Patnaik Government for protecting his tainted Minister Sanjay Dasburma, who has link with the Artha Tatwa chit fund firm.
