The BJP-led Central Government’s anti-people policies and economic mismanagement have led to rampaging inflation and unemployment in the country, said the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) here on Saturday.
Before coming to power in 2014, the BJP had promised to provide 2 crore jobs, deposit Rs 15 lakh in every person’s bank account and control price rise and made many other promises. But they have failed to fulfil any of the assurances. This has brought immense suffering for the people, said PCC president Sarat Patnaik at a Press meet.
He alleged that the BJD-led State Government is hand-in-glove with the Union Government and supporting the latter’s anti-people policies. So, both the BJP and the BJD are deceiving the people.
The Congress had gheraoed the Raj Bhavan on August 5 and held protest meetings across the State against the anti- people policies of the Central Government. Similarly, padyatras are being throughout the State from August 9 to 14, Patnaik said.
To create awareness among people about price rise and unemployment, ‘Mehengai Pe Charcha’ campaign would be held from August 17 to 23 State-wide. On August 28, ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol-Delhi Challo’ would be organised.
Among others, Congress media cell chairman Ganeshwar Behera and convenor Satya Parakash Nayak were present.
