Confident BJD launches high-voltage campaign

Since filing of nomination for the Champua NAC for which election will be held on January 19, the BJD is

trying to impress the voters in an organised way.

RD Minister Badrinarayan Patra, MP Skuntala laguiri, former MP Yasowant Singh laguri and a host of other party leaders were present during the day of nomination filling. Ministers and MlAs of different constituencies outside Keonjhar district have put up their camp at Champua to steer the election campaign in favor of BJD.

Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das who is in-charge of the election stayed here for two days to oversee the campaigning. Finance Minister Pradip Kumar Amat and Minister Badrinarayan Patra were campaigning for last two days. Among others, MlAs Abhiram Naik (Sadar), Hrushkesh Naik (Patna) , RajaniKanta Singh (Angul),Susanta Singh (Bhatli) and MP languri have been given charge of one constituency each.

BJD posters and boards are found everywhere. Propaganda vehicles are moving from place to place shouting slogans and achievements of the Government. Party leaders are travelling in costly cars while poor voters are unhappy as they are deprived of the pension given by Sanatan Mahakud for the time being due to election code of conduct.

Sources revealed that  Minister Patra had gone to Godhuli village under ward no-1 of  Champua NAC where he had tried to  impress the voters by saying that he has built the road on where they are walking but the villagers retorted that they are walking on Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yoyana. In other place, the villagers preferred to remain indoor, instead of talking to the Minister’s campaign party.

On the contrary, the grassroots BJD workers have complained of being sidelined.

Patna MlA Hrushikesh Naik who is in charge of Ward no-11, said, “I am 100 per cent sure that BJD will win the ward.”

Similarly, BJD district president Alekh Kumar Singh also was equally confident of victory in the polls.
