In the wake of the State Government’s declaration for conducting all types of recruitment examinations in both Odia and English languages, Congress member of Rajya Sabha Rama Chandra Khuntia has shot off a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urging him to take steps for conduct of all recruitment examinations only in Odia language instead of both English and Odia.
Khuntia said that every student of Odisha knows Odia. So, whose interest would be safeguarded by conducting the examinations in English language, he asked, adding, “Is it meant for those students of Odisha who do not know OdiaIJ”
If the examinations are conducted in English and Odia separately, those writing their answers in English would get better priority than those writing in Odia, lamented Khuntia.
