To monitor the distribution of essential commodities under the public distribution system (PDS), the State Government recently launched a computerized fair price shop (FPS) automation system in Dhauli gram panchayat on the city outskirts on pilot basis.
The project will help check the loopholes in the distribution as every transaction of commodities among the beneficiaries will be recorded in a mechanized system and the beneficiaries get a SMS on their mobile as soon the transaction gets over.
“Computerized fair price automation system would help eliminate any irregularities by the distributor and track all transaction sitting at one place. It would give authentic report on proper distribution of rice, wheat and kerosene” said Sarapanch Rabi Maharana.
The project will be implemented across the State by March 2017.
