The agitating computer and tailoring teachers, who are engaged in various schools in the State by the Global Charitable Educational Trust with due permission of the School and Mass Education Department, on Sunday decried the State Government’s apathetic attitude towards their five-point charter of demands.
They have been protesting in front of the State Assembly here under the banner of the All Odisha Computer and Tailoring Teachers’ Association.
They have been demanding regularisation of their salaries, making computer and tailoring compulsory subjects in schools and supply of adequate equipments to campuses.
“Nearly 2,000 computer and tailoring teachers are working in various schools across the State since 2010 despite minimum Government facilities. We have been raising the issues since 2010 but have failed to persuade the Government to sort our crisis,” rued association president Dillip Kumar Nayak.
“We have been agitating since February 14, but the Government is yet to take any effective step to consider our demands. We urge the Government to take up our issues seriously and ensure justice to us,” said Nayak.
