Hundreds of investors, agents and employees of Oum Sarvodaya System Private limited (OSSPl), a Balangir-based chit fund company, on Friday lodged complaints at the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch here alleging that the company duped them of crores of rupees.

The investors from Boudh and Balangir urged the EOW officials to investigate the case and take step for the recovery of their hard earned money from the fraudulent company. “The company having its office in Balangir collected money from Boudh and other neighbouring districts under the pretext of lucrative returns. But it failed to keep its promise,” said an investor from Boudh.

Meanwhile, in last 10 days, Justice RK Patra Commission of Enquiry, constituted to probe illegal collection of money by chit fund companies, received nearly 5,000 complaints and grievances. The Commission had invited complaints on August 6.
