The Khandagiri police on Monday recorded the statements of city-based jeweller Mitesh Khimij, who has levelled a cheating case against Air Odisha Aviation Private ltd (AOAPl) and its officials.
The police also recorded the statements of witnesses. Khimiji has alleged that AOAPl has embezzled Rs 1.5 crore of his money.
“It will be unfair on my part to comment now as the case is sub judice. They have cheated us of Rs 1.5 crore,” Khimji told reporters after recording his statement.
Khimiji’s counsel Yuvraj Barik said AOAPl officials had taken Rs 1.5 crore from his client to transfer 40 per cent of the shares of the company to him.
As per the shareholder agreement, a joint bank account was to be opened in which the Government’s subsidy and proceeds from the sale of tickets were to be deposited. But without informing my client, they have diverted this money to another account, he added.
