A community awareness programme on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) was organised by the ActionAid in cooperation with the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO) at Kalapanchan in Puri on Friday.
Around 40 participants from DAS-India comprising village hygiene promoters, social mobilisers and WASH committee members attended the event and highlighted skills on usage of safe and purified water, safe disposal of human excreta, personal hygiene-hand washing, food hygiene, safe disposal of solid and liquid waste, diarrhea and treatment practice.Among others, representatives from partner organisation, village committee members on Phailin response were present and discussed on various measures on WASH to be undertaken during emergency situations like cyclone and floods.
