The weeklong PECUC children festival ended here on Wednesday with mesmerising performances by children.
The concluding session saw a huge crowd on the venue at the Ekamra Haat. Attending the function, Odisha High Court Justice Madan Mohan Das advised children to strive towards achieving excellence in their respective areas of expertise.
PECUC- Sisu Mela president and scribe Pradosh Pattnaik presided over the valedictory festival. Secretary Ranjan Mohanty gave welcome address and briefed PECUC’s weeklong children festival. Amongst others, former Chief Secretary Sahadeb Sahoo, Department of Horticulture director and former president, Rotary Club of Heritage, Bhubaneswar Sanjeev Chadha, former bureaucrat Narayan Chandra Jena, IMFA vice president Sanjeev Das and PECUC’s good will ambassador for promotion of child rights Akankhya Kabi, PEPUC chairperson Adaramani Boral, Sapan Kumar Dutta and Jatin Dash graced the occasion. PECUC executive director Anuradha Mohanty gave vote of thanks.
On this occasion eminent personalities and talented children in different areas were honoured as part of PECUC’s Annual Award Giving Ceremony 2013. For 2013, Satakadi Hota, Editor, The Samaya, was honoured with Swarup Jena Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of journalism, Bibekananda Dash was honored with Abani Boral Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of education, Kasturi Mohapatra got Dr Praffulla Das Memorial Sisu Adhikar Surakhya Award, Rabi Shankar Mishra got Sisu Sathi Award, Srujan Bhardwaj Pati got Dr Praffulla Das Memorial Sisu Prativa Award, Chandan Khuntia got Bajirout Memorial Award for Bravery, Sukumari Mohanta got Prananatha Pattnaik Memorial Award for Social Service, Sanvi Das got Baby of the Year and Satwik Das and Sankalp Mishra got Runners up of Bay of The Year.
