The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has been carrying out extensive contact tracing after six more persons associated with the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Center (AHRCC) tested positive for Covid-19.
CMC Commissioner Ananya Das informed that five staffs, including a doctor, of the hospital contracted the virus. This apart, a patient of the hospital also tested positive.
A couple of days back, six patients of the AHRCC and an employee of the Aahaar centre in the premises of the hospital were found to be positive. Two nurses of the hospital had tested positive on June 28.
The first Covid-19 case in the hospital had been detected on June 24.
“More than 300 persons as part of the contact tracing have been tested so far,” Das informed.
The cancer hospital authorities have been directed not to admit new patients in view of the rise in the Covid-19 cases, she said.
