CM writes to Premji over slow pace of Wipro project

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has written a letter to Wipro Chairman Azim Premji over the tardy progress of the IT major Wipro's Bhubaneswar Development Centre. Patnaik has sought Premji’s intervention in the matter.

In his letter, Patnaik said, "The pace of the progress has been very slow over the last eight years."It may be noted that 26 acres of land was allotted to Wipro in 2005 where it started constructions in 2007.The Chief Minister noted that till date only the administrative block of the centre has been completed.

The original plan was to construct five towers (G+10), which would house 11,000 technical associates. But only one tower up to sixth floor (G+6) has so far been constructed and, moreover, at present no construction is going on.
