The BJP on Monday came down heavily on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stating that he is wring letters to the Centre in order to gain media attention only and has no eagerness to get Central funds in reality. “The Chief Minister knows very well that a State’s demands are not considered if placed through letters only. The demands need to be placed at the appropriate forums through the formal channels. While his party MPs are not raising demands in the Parliament and the Resident Commissioner at the appropriate forum, then why the Chief Minister is writing letters only and waiting to get demands fulfilled,” BJP State spokesperson Sajjan Sharma said.
He slammed Patnaik for writing three letters to the Centre on Monday alone. Stating that BJP wants Odisha get more funds from the Centre, Sharma said the Chief Minister should send his representatives to place the demands instead of faxing and e-mailing letters only. “The Chief Minister not only writes letters but also releases them to the media immediately. If the Centre fulfils any of the demands then his Government claims it was demanded earlier and, if a demand is not met, he just adds another phase, Cenral negligence. This is cheap politics,” Sharma opined.
Suggesting that the Chief Minister allow its MPs to place their demands in both the lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the BJP leader demanded that Patnaik desist from writing letters and should fight to get more funds from the Centre through right forums.
