CM woos Jajpur tribals ahead of rural polls

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wooed large numbers of tribals in Jajpur district by laying foundation stones for many projects at Kalarangi under Sukinda block of the district on Friday.

The Chief Minister distributed land pattas to the tribal families of Nagada and its nearby areas.  Nagada was in the news recently for the death of 26 tribal kids from malnutrition.

The Chief Minister said that the BJD led State Government has been doing many welfare works for the people, particularly for the tribals.  Many big and foreign industrial houses are coming to the State for establishing industries. As a result, more unemployed youths would get jobs, he said.

Since the BJD Government came into power, the State has been progressing in all sectors in last 17 years. “We have provided drinking water to the rural people. Students got free dresses, cycles and books. Our Government constructed good roads in rural areas and there is a proposal to build a road from Ashokjhar to Nagada within a year at the cost of `13 crore,” said the Chief Minister.

Patnaik distributed Rs 15,000 each to three SHGs of Nagada. The CM also stated that the State Government is determined to help the poor and downtrodden people. The mineral rich Sukinda area will be a model area for the State, he declared.

Industrialisations in the State will solve the unemployment problem. Some opposition parties with an ulterior motive have been opposing all the developmental works of the Government, accused Patnaik.

Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das, MlAs Pritiranjan Ghadei, Pramila Mallick, Pranab Kumar Balbantray, MP Rita Tarai and Collector Ranjan Kumar Das, among others, spoke.
