Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday directed the concerned officials to complete the construction work of the Government medical college in the minerals-rich Keonjhar district in two years.
A total of Rs 314 crore would be spent for the 100-seat medical college. The project has been assigned to the Tata Projects for the building construction work.
Earlier, an administrative nod had been given to set up the proposed medical college. The Chief Minister had laid its foundation-stone.
The medical college was a longstanding demand of the people of the district. The common people, especially tribals, would be benefited when the medical college and its hospital come up.
