Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday urged the FICCI to select sector-specific teams to work with respective departments of the State Government.
Addressing the 93rd Annual General Meeting of FICCI, Patnaik requested the industry body to nominate dedicated sectoral teams so that they can work with different departments, especially in the food processing, chemicals, tourism and IT sectors.
He informed that the FICCI would again be the National Industry Partner for the third edition of Make in Odisha Conclave.
Notably, the FICCI played a vital role in the Make In Odisha Conclave in 2018.
Patnaik said how the State has attracted projects in diverse sectors ranging from healthcare, renewable energy, downstream units in steel and aluminium, IT and food processing in recent past.
“Odisha and FICCI have been partners in multidimensional progress spanning across investment promotion, policy advocacy, and promoting entrepreneurship, especially among women and start-ups,” Patnaik said.
Mentioning that Odisha is fast emerging as the ‘manufacturing hub of Eastern India’, Patnaik said, “My Government has always endeavoured for a holistic business environment for the investors in the State.”
He also stated how the State Government has created a favourable business environment by implementing the ‘5T’ charter and ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiatives.
“To further ensure that the service delivery is prompt, the timelines for the services have also been included under the State’s Right to Public Services Act.
The State has also developed a dedicated land bank with over one lakh acres of land available on a GIS-based platform for easy site selection by industries,” he said.
During the Covid pandemic, the State has been able to attract new investments of over Rs 1 lakh crore across multiple sectors, he informed.
