CM urged to curb rising prices

The Samajwadi Party on Wednesday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urging him to convene an inter-Ministerial meeting immediately to devise ways to control the soaring prices of vegetables and other food items like dal, sugar and oil.

Party State president Rabi Behera said, “The food inflation will touch almost 10 per cent in near future. The Raja festival and the coming marriage season will further give rise to the prices of the food items. Hoarders and black marketers are looting the common consumers,” said Behera. He urged the Chief Minister to convene a meeting of Finance Minister, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister and Transport Minister to curb the increasing prices.

Behera also requested Patnaik to issue strict instruction to all district Collectors to initiate action against hoarders and other unscrupulous traders.
