\Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled a Santali-Odia- English dictionary at the Naveen Niwas here on Saturday. Besides, Patnaik also released 21 textbooks for primary classes in Soura, Kui, Gondi and Munda languages.
The CM said these efforts would enrich the Santali language and create interest among others to learn the language. The textbooks would be helpful for the primary school children. He also thanked the Santali educationists, researchers and the Tribal Language and Culture Council for their sincere efforts.
Patnaik also said Language Labs would be set up in every district which would facilitate more research on tribal language and culture.
Notably, eminent Santali educationist Chaitanya Prasad Majhi has prepared the dictionary.
Among others, 5T Secretary VK Pandian was present.
