CM took only 4 Gandhi books from Assembly library in 10 yrs

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is also a writer having penned four books, has obtained only four books from the State legislative Assembly library in 10 years between 2004 and 2014. Patnaik only requisitioned four collected works on Mahatma Gandhi, Volumes V, VIII, XI and XII, on February 24 and 29, and March 15 and 21, respectively, in 2012.
Of the total 147 MlAs, only 48 of them have used the library and obtained books in the last ten years, reveals a reply to an RTI query sought by activist Pradip Pradhan. It means 99 MlAs have never taken any books, reports or periodicals from the library."During his 10-year stint as the Chief Minister, Patnaik has taken only four volumes of collected works on Mahatma Gandhi. It means he does not like to read any reports, documents on laws, policies, manuals or he might be well-versed in these laws and policies like forest law, land related laws, Assembly deliberations, socio-economic-cultural history of Odisha or he might have enriched his knowledge and getting prepared to be guided by the philosophy of Gandhi. But we hardly see it being reflected in his career," said Pradhan.
Pradhan also maintained that it has come to notice that the books, reports  taken from the library by MlAs are not for them to read but for others or relatives on request.
