Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was greeted with black flags near the Khallikote College here by Congress workers when he came to inaugurate some Government projects in his home turf Ganjam district on Monday.
Police detained 10 agitating Congress workers, including party Ganjam unit students’ wing chief Biswajit Patra, to avoid any untoward incident during the CM’s programme.
The Chief Minister arrived at Sheragada under his own constituency Hinjili by a helicopter and inaugurated a new building of the Sheragada Community Health Centre.
The CM also visited the Sheragada block office to attend a voluntary blood donation drive under the BJD’s Jeevan Bindu programme and addressed a public gathering.
Besides, Patnaik inaugurated four buildings at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, including a new academic block, in Brahmapur.
“I am glad to be in Ganjam district today for inauguration and foundation stone laying of a number of welfare schemes and developmental projects for local people,” said Patnaik.
