Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved a rehabilitation package under the Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economic Initiative (SAMALEI) and said, “Our generation will remember the sacrifices made by the local people for the betterment of Ma Samaleswari’s field.”
The SAMALEI is being implemented for the development of the famous Ma Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur and surrounding areas.
The scheme includes design, transportation, riverfront improvements and other attractive amenities.Land would be acquired directly from people living in private areas and compensation would be paid as per law. The priests would be given a rehabilitation allowance of Rs 20 lakh or the value of their house, whichever is higher.
