A statue of the Red Cross founder, which was unveiled by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha Branch office here on Saturday, has raised many eyebrows as the platform holding the statue has Red Crescent and Red Crystal images apart from Red Cross logo.
While the Red Cross symbol is used in India, Red Crescent and Red Crystal are used in Muslim and Israel and Palestinian countries, respectively.
Noted advocate and India Red Cross Society lifetime member Dillip Dashsharma pointed out this and wanted to know the justice behind installing such a platform here.
He demanded an inquiry be conducted and stringent action be taken against those who got the mistake done at the hands of the Chief Minister.
