As part of the ongoing project dedication programme to mark the 80 years of formation of Odisha and the Biju birth centenary, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday inaugurated 100 urban piped drinking water supply projects.
He also laid foundation-stones for 100 more drinking water supply projects through videoconferencing at a function at the State Secretariat here.
Besides, he launched two systems, online Smart Water Information Management and e-Building Pass.
“The online Smart Water Information Management system and other citizen-centric services were launched to bring more accountability and efficiency in urban water management,” said Patnaik.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Pushpendra Singh Deo said the online Smart Water Information Management system would provide information on various aspects like the quality of water, piped water connection and collection of water tax.
“The e-Building Pass system would simplify the building approval process benefiting the people. Besides, the time limit for getting various NOCs has been fixed. With this, people can easily get their building plans approval online,” he added.
