CM Naveen seeks Centre’s clarity on Board exams

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to give clarification on the timeframe for conduct of Classes-X and XII Board examinations and duration of the 2020-21 academic session.

In the letter, Patnaik said all enrolled students and their parents and teachers are in a state of uncertainty leading to anxiety due to absence of clarity on academic session and conduct of both Board examinations.“As all competitive entrance examinations and admission in institutions of high education are interlinked, national guidelines with tentative timelines will help States frame appropriate strategy. It will also help students anxious about exam dates to plan and prepare accordingly,” letter stated.

Patnaik emphasised that keeping in view safety of students and after consultation with different stakeholders and experts, State Government has decided to keep educational institutions closed till December 31.“We have been trying to reach out to maximum numbers of students digitally through different modes.

But it is not possible to cover all students and prepare them for Boards and different competitive examinations,” Patnaik stated.
