'CM liable for Ratna Bhandar key missing'

The BJP on Monday demanded that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inform the public how many times the Foundation Fund Committee, which keeps pearls and jewelleries donated by devotees to the Shree Jagannath Temple under its custody, has met during last 18 years of his Government.

“Donated pearls and jewelleries are not kept in treasury or SBI; rather, they are kept under the custody of the Foundation Fund Committee headed by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister should tell people how many times the committee has met during the last 18 years,” demanded BJP State spokesperson Pitambar Acharya at a Press conference here.

He said the incidences of Ratna Bhandar key missing and the Chief Minister distancing from his responsibility despite being head of the Fund Foundation Committee are most ‘unfortunate’.

He lamented that the Singhadwar police have not registered a case on the complaint lodged by the BJP on June 13. He said the Chief Minister is liable as per some sections of the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act.

BJP State vice-president Sameer Mohanty was present.
