Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for 12 projects, including the much-awaited second bridge over river Mahanadi, in Sambalpur district.
The bridge would connect Sambalpur city with the Chaunrpur area. The distance between the villages, located on the other side of the river, and the city would reduce after the bridge is constructed.
Patnaik addressed a public meeting on the Government Women's College ground here. Several Congress and BJP workers were taken into custody during Patnaik's visit.
