Koraput District Collector and District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) Chief Executive Sachin Rama Chandra Jadhav was felicitated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his successful implementation of Total Sanitation Programme in the district.
Koraput district stood first in the State for construction and use of household toilets by the tribal people who belong to BPl category. The District Water and Sanitation Mission made aware the villagers about the use of toilets and boon of sanitation. The Chief Minister also awarded Nirmala Grama prizes to 48 Gram Panchayats of 13 districts at a State level function, which was arranged by the Odisha State Water and Sanitation Mission in Bhubaneswar.
Patnaik also felicitated Shyam Sundar Pujari of Semiliguda. Among others, Rural Development Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, Panchayati Raj Minister Kalpataru Dash, Minister of Women and Child Development Usha Devi, Minister of Health and Family Welfare Damodar Rout, School and Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayana Nanda, Rural Development Commissioner Surendra Nath Tripathy, RWSM chief engineer, Unicef State Chief and DWSM project coordinators
participated.
