With the Opposition parties upping their ante in and outside the Assembly against the Government over the questionable statements of Justice MM Das against the duped chit fund investors, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday convened a meeting at the State Secretariat to discuss on the status of the chit fund probe and procedure of refund of money.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) R Balakrishnan and many other senior officials attended the meeting. The Chief Minister, sources said, took stock of the progress in the move to return money to the investors.
Sources said many important decisions were taken at the meeting and the Chief Minister is scheduled to inform the Assembly about the Government’s stand on the issue on Tuesday.
