Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has become the second longest-serving Chief Minister of the nation. He has also created a record in making promises and going back on them, said former BJP State president Samir Mohanty on Sunday,

Patnaik had promised 35% irrigation in every block, cold storages, Pattas and houses to landless and jobs to youths through industrialisation. But he has created a record in not fulfilling them. The CM has also created a record in malnutrition and anaemia in case of women and children. According to the NCRB report, Odisha has record cases of violence and crimes against women and children, said Mohanty.

Besides, a record has been created in not reopening the Ratna Bhandar of Shreemandir of Lord Jagannath for years.

It is not on the basis of tenure  but on basis of actions, a person’s record is recognised, said Mohanty.
