In a startling revelation again, leader of Opposition in the Assembly Narasingha Mishra on Saturday said the State Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik are under the Prime Minister Office’s (PMO) scanner in connection with coal and chit fund scams.
Mishra told reporters here that though the PMO had on December 14, 2015 (PMO/PG/D/2015) given a letter to the State Chief Secretary asking for “required action” against the Chief Minister and the State Government, the Chief Secretary is yet to take a decision on it.
“Basing on the report of the Central Vigilance Commission, the PMO had asked the Chief Secretary for action against the CM and the State Government in connection with their involvement in the coal and chit fund scams. But months have elapsed. No action has been initiated by the Chief Secretary as yet,” said Mishra.
The ruling BJD sharply countered the statements of Misrha and wondered why he does not submit the report if he has either to the PMO or to the investigating agency CBI.
“Why he (Mishra) does not submit proofs, if he has any, to the PMO and the CBI,” asked party spokesperson Sashibhusan Behera.
