CM comes to rescue of deserted elderly couple

Even though elderly parents are supposed to be taken care of by their children, 82-year-old Keshab Rao and his wife Jamula Jasoda (77) have allegedly been abandoned by their only son at Prem Nagar in Brahmapur in Ganjam district.

Still worse for the couple is that their son allegedly threatened them of dire consequences if they ever get back to the house. With no option left for them, the couple met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik seeking his help. They urged Patnaik to help them stay in their own house safely and get their son out of it.

Taking prompt action, the Chief Minister directed the Brahmapur SP to provide protection to Keshab and his wife. The direction was issued from the CM’s grievance cell to Brahmapur SP Pinak Mishra.

According to reports, the couple had given their best to help their son settle in the family business.

They later went to Puttaparthi and stayed there for 10 years from 2009 to 2019. When they returned, they were shocked to find that their son had ruined the business and married three times.

When the couple reached the house, their son did not allow them to enter the house and asked them not to come back again. So, the hapless couple decided to bring their plight to the notice of the Chief Minister at his grievance cell.
