Reacting over the BJD Government’s recommendation for Bhubaneswar for the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), senior BJP leader and Rourkela MlA Dilip Ray dubbed it as ‘betrayal’ to the people of Sundargarh by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in ignoring their long standing demand for establishment of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in the Steel City.
“Pattanaik behaves as if he is the Chief Minister of Bhubaneswar,” said Ray. Ray said during his interaction with the Central Government, he was assured of the IIM at Rourkela, but with the State Government having only preferred Bhubaneswar over others, it is now difficult for the steel city to get the favour.
Earlier, on the ESIC Medical College issue the State Government had betrayed Rourkela as well as the whole of western Odisha. The State Government could not provide land at Rourkela for the ESIC Medical College finally leading to its shift to Bhubaneswar, lamented Ray.
Congratulating the denizens of Rourkela for their overwhelming support to the Rourkela Bandh on Friday demanding the IIM, Ray hoped that in coming days he would get all cooperation on the issues of development of the Steel City.
