In the wake of the death of four Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel in a landmine blast by Maoists on Tuesday at the Ralegoda Ghat near Sunki under the Pottangi police station in Koraput district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday directed Home Secretary Vipin Kumar Saxsena and Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra to immediately visit Koraput to take stock of the situation.
Charring a review meeting on the Maoist issue attended by senior police officials and anti-Maoist security forces along with intelligence wing officials here, Patnaik told the concerned officials to be extra cautious in handling the Maoist issue. Sources said the Home Secretary and DGP would visit Koraput this week.
