An Ama Gaon Ama Vikash programme was held at Khariar of Nuapada district on Friday with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik interacting with people of Khariar block through videoconferencing to know about their opinion on development activities.
The CM approved as many as 218 projects for implementation in 25 gram panchayats of the block and sanctioned Rs 3.76 crore for the purpose.
The projects had been submitted to the Government in advance by the panchayats through the block office which range from construction of community centres, prayer halls to bathing ghats and rooms on the banks of village ponds.
The CM asked the people to maintain quality of the works and complete the projects at the earliest.
Dharamgarh MLA Puspendu Singh Deo, Nuapada Collector Dr Poma Tuda and DRDA PD Brushabh Naik, Khariar BDO Uttam Bag and all Government officials of Khariar were present along with ZP President Namita Pradhan and Vice-President Bhanupratap Singh Majhi and Khariar Panchayat Samiti Chairman Balkrishna Sabar. Over 3,000 people, mostly women, attended the programme.
