The Nehru Yuva Kendra Nuapada launched #YouthForNatureCampaign, as part of celebration of the World Environment Day on June 5.
District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Nuapada, Asis Thakur inaugurated the campaign with sapling plantation at Maniguda village, near Nuapada with Rainbow Youth Club and Samaj Darpan Youth Club members.
"The campaign aims to raise awareness on various environmental issues and to attract and involve more and more young people to be the part of the solution," informed Thakur. "The four-month long campaign that kick-started on June 5 will continue till October 2, 2020, Gandhi Jayanti, added he.
He also informed that various activities like tree plantation and distribution, sanitation, plastic free zone drive, wall writing, door- to -door awareness drive, mass cycle rally and various competitions etc. would be carried out by NYK with the support of its affiliated youth clubs. As many as 16 youth clubs are taking part in the campaign under the leadership of NYK national youth volunteers.
