Due to short circuit, a cloth store located at the ground floor of the Big Bazaar near the KIIT Square in the city caught fire on Thursday morning. Materials worth around Rs15,000 were damaged in the accident. According to reports, a security guard of the shopping mall at around 7am saw the fire coming out of the cloth store. He immediately informed the store manager about it and the latter called fire brigade officials.
Fire officials from Chandrasekharpur rushed to the spot and put out the fire. The loss was minimal since many of the cartons in the store were empty, mall sources said.
